To sum up this episode, Homer decides he doesn’t want to go to church one Sunday based on the weather and the sheer boredom he feels while he’s attending. Marge isn’t happy but goes ahead without him. In the meantime, Homer has one of the best days he’s ever had. He makes waffles, wins a radio contest, finds a penny and watches football amongst other things.

Homer declares he will never go back to church because of his wonderful day. Marge isn’t happy with this and prays for him that night. A furious God visits homer in his dreams and Homer explains that he isn’t a bad guy and takes care of his family. God gives Homer a pass and tells him he can worship however he feels. Homer takes this que and creates his own religion in which he creates holidays to miss work.
