Griffin Clothing: AW13 Collection
Griffin AW13
Almost two decades after founding his eponymous brand, Jeff Griffin has launched his latest autumn/winter collection. The designer, who graduated from Saint Martins College of Art in 1994 before spending a number of years working in Milan, aimed to create the highest standard active wear in the industry. The Griffin label is best known for its work with artists such as Banksy and Peter Kennard, alongside its collaborations with clothing labels like Baracuta and Berghaus. However, Jeff’s main inspiration comes from the countryside and the great outdoors; a creative source clearly evoked in the latest AW13 collection. The range showcases a limited number of high-end fashion pieces, all of which focus upon braving the wild in style. The colour palette utilises soft, neutral hues often associated with autumn and winter – greens, greys and blues feature heavily as they naturally blend into the country landscape. The Sleeping Bag Coat is the evidently the stand out piece of the collection and is bound to attract attention. The quilted, bag-shape silhouette is designed to protect its wearer from the natural elements, whilst the lower section can also be zipped off for city wearing. For AW13, Griffin has utilised the latest materials and technology available. It is this combination of high tech production methods and active wear-inspired shapes that makes Griffin such a unique brand. See more at Griffin-Studio.com.
