Frank Sinatra's Former Cali Compound Is on the Market

As much as he loved New York, crooner Frank Sinatra also enjoyed getting away from the showbiz life. In fact, Old Blue Eyes spent so much time in the Golden State he decided to build a holiday home there. Known as Villa Maggio, named after the character Angelo Maggio – who Sinatra played in the 1953 hit movie From Here to Eternity – the secluded compound in Palm Desert is an oasis hideaway.

Although only 20 minutes from the nearest town, the sprawling mountain landscape surrounding the property makes it feel cut off from the rest of the world, which is also having an impact on the sale. This is the 11th time the property has been put on the market in the past 15 years.

The mid-century mountain retreat has a main home with five bedrooms, a guest residence with three bedrooms, and a pool house with one. There are seven stone fireplaces throughout the 6,500 feet property, with much of the interior comprising of wood paneling and rustic features. There are two kitchens and a den in the main home, while the guest house has a deck and the poolroom comes with two saunas.

Sinatra liked to use the property to entertain, which is evident by the addition of a tennis court, lagoon-style pool, and numerous entertaining areas, both indoors and outdoors. There’s even a helipad so guests could fly in from all parts of the continent and room for 24 cars, so parking will never be a problem.

So if you have a spare $4.25 million and love Old Blue Eyes, now’s your chance to invest in this piece of Sinatra’s past. Check out more photos below.
