Ede & Ravenscroft AW14 Campaign

Britain’s Oldest Tailor Shows Off New Season

London-based tailoring label Ede & Ravenscroft has revealed its campaign for the coming season, showcasing a collection influenced by “the English gentleman in the city”. For autumn/winter 2014 the brand has captured its latest collection in the British countryside, styled by David St John James. In a reference to the brand’s history, designers revisited a selection of fabrics and silhouettes from its archives, updating them to “create a contemporary yet authentic English look”. Stone grey materials mirror the colour of London buildings, while the classic Prince of Wales check and Harris Tweed nod to the label’s British roots. The creation of separates, suits, shirts and accessories in the range was overseen by Burberry’s former head of design, Michael McGrath. Founded in 1689, Ede & Ravenscroft is considered Britain’s oldest tailors, also known for being the official robe maker and tailor to HRH Queen Elizabeth II. Over 300 years on, the label now has stores in Cambridge, Oxford and Edinburgh, in addition to London’s Chancery Lane, Gracechurch Street and Burlington Arcade. Ede & Ravenscroft’s autumn/winter 2014 collection will be available in store and online from October, with prices starting at £95 for ties, £125 for shirts and ranging up to £1,750 for outerwear.
