“Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series,” James Waugh, Lucasfilm EP, and VP Franchise Content & Strategy told Deadline.

“Their stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found across Japanese animation, each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been such an inspiration to so many visionary storytellers.

Animated in classic Japanese style, the trailer features wild action sequences, including impressive use of the Force, a multitude of kick-ass lightsabers (including a female Jedi with a six saber apparatus), and interesting new characters.

Visions features nine new tales from the Stars Wars universe, including the following episodes:

  1. The Duel (Kamikaze Douga)
  2. Lop and Ochō (Geno Studio/Twin Engine)
  3. Tatooine Rhapsody (Studio Colorido/Twin Engine)

  6. The Village Bride (Kinema Citrus)
  7. Akakiri (Science Saru)
