A fully wrapped around the head braid is whimsical and fun to wear. Either a French or Dutch braid will work perfectly for a braided crown, but you can also go with a fishtail. Fan out the braid to make it lacier and chunkier and add some baby’s breath or fresh leaves for a fancier occasion.

There’s a lot going on here, but the elements this sophisticated hairstyle involves are pretty simple – a braid, a bouffant and a wrapped ponytail. The key is to perform each of them aptly. Braid around head and secure in place with a hair pin. Make a small bouffant, backcombing the hair behind the braid and add a pony that sits right at the crown. If you wish, wrap a medium section of hair around the pony to conceal the elastic.
