Bladnoch’s Rare 29-Year-Old Single Malt Can Be Yours This Spring

Scottish Lowlands Distillery Bladnoch’s extremely limited release 29-year-old single malt will be available in the US during spring.

The Bicentennial expression was limited to just 200 bottles to celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the company, but will now be made available to US whisky lovers.

Made from two casks of whisky distilled in 1988, the Bladnoch Bicentennial Release was first matured in Oloroso Sherry casks and finished for a final 18 months in Moscatel casks.

Each bottle of the expression is personally numbered and presented in a luxurious gold plated bottle, and according to the Robb Report, will sell for $7,550.

Tasting Notes

Color: Chestnut gold.

Nose: Lovely rich old Sherry aromas, acacia, honey, beeswax, orange, fruitcake, a whiff of coffee and a hint of chocolate.

Palate: Soft and silky Sherry flavors. Dark chocolate, ginger, spicy citrus notes, balanced oak, and a hint of ground black pepper.

Finish: Warming with a hint of honeyed spiciness. Satisfying and long.

Under the ownership of Australian businessman David Prior and Master distiller Nick Savage, the Bladnoch has been releasing limited edition collections since re-commencing production in 2017.

Bladnoch’s 14 year Lowlands Single Malt Whisky was recently named the 2021 World Whiskies Awards Category Winner for the Single Malt 13 to 20 years age group.
