Get Creative with Whiskey Cocktails

1. Old Fashioned

Ingredients:
  • 1 Sugar cube
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 3 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 1 Maraschino Cherry
  • 2 Orange slices or orange peel for garnish
Recipe:

Place sugar in the bottom of your whiskey glass, add bitters, an orange peel or slice and a splash of water. Pour the whiskey, add a few ice cubes, and stir until its chilled. Old Fashioned Whiskey is ready!

2. Rob Roy

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz blended scotch whiskey
  • 1 oz Italian vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Recipe:

Stir the ingredients including scotch, vermouth and bitters along with the cracked ice. Strain the drink into your favorite chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

3. Hot Blooded

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup fresh blood orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Agave
  • Half cup whiskey
  • 2 tbsp or 1 medium-sized jalapeno that is chopped with the stem removed
Recipe:

To a cocktail shaker, add the blood orange juice, agave and whiskey and stir them together. Add the jalapenos and replace the shaker cap. Shake three times. Pour this drink immediately into a highball glass filled with ice while straining out the jalapenos.

4. Mint Julep

Ingredients:
  • 4-5 mint leaves
  • 2 sugar cubes
  • 2 ½ ounces bourbon whiskey
  • Mint sprig for garnish
Recipe:

Place the mint leaves and sugar in your julep cup and mix them until the sugar dissolves and you get the aroma of mint. Add bourbon and fill the glass with crushed ice. Stir the mixture until it becomes frosty. Lastly, garnish with a mint sprig.
