John Varvatos To Open London Store

Rock ‘N’ Roll Brand Picks UK For First European Store

Further details have emerged of the John Varvatos store opening in London. Earlier in the week, FashionBeans covered the tapping of former Beatle Ringo Starr as the brand’s AW14 campaign face. During the report it was mentioned that the menswear retailer had set its sights on the UK capital as the location for its first European store. Shortly after, representatives confirmed the 10,000sq ft space, located at 12-13 Conduit Street. In addition to being a European first, the outlet will also be the rock ‘n’ roll brand’s largest, spread over three floors. The Varvatos mainline collection, which focuses on tailoring, shirts and knitwear, will sit alongside its sportswear Star USA range. In addition to the New York brand’s own line of shoes and boots, the London store will stretch to include Varvatos’s footwear collaboration with Converse. A live music area and shoppable memorabilia collection has also been confirmed for the basement. The label has associated itself with music since being founded in 2000, previously using rockers Iggy Pop and Kiss as campaign faces, as well as creating a Jimi Hendrix-inspired clothing line. Elsewhere, the space will be used to launch a styling and a tailoring service, John Varvatos Made-to-Measure. The John Varvatos store in London will open its doors in September 2014.
