The Family Reunites in 'Fast and Furious 9' Super Bowl Trailer
Get ready to strap yourselves in when the much anticipated Fast and Furious 9 (F9) drops next month. A new teaser trailer premiered during the Super Bowl, providing plenty of action as the “family” gets back together.
Although only 30 seconds long, we see Domonic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew – including a returning Han – take on baddies, Jakob Toretto (John Cena) and Fate Of The Furious villain Cipher (Charlize Theron). It’s all action as we see multiple car crashes, a collapsing building, and a car turn on its side and crash through a storefront into a truck. Intense.
The official synopsis reads:
“Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena).”
Director Justin Lin is also back, along with franchise staples Michelle Rodriguez, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang. Helen Mirren is also on board alongside Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift stars Lucas Black, Bow Wow, and Jason Tobin. New cast members include veteran Michael Rooker as Buddy and Cardi B as someone from Dom’s past.
Delayed due to Covid, F9 is finally set to hit theatres on March 29.
