Panasonic Just Created the Slickest Man-Cave TV

It’s a golden age for television. When we’re not getting episodic entertainment from an eight-hour binge-watch, we’re celebrating the best-dressed men on the box. To help make vegetating all the more stylish, Panasonic has launched its first design-focused TV with the modern man-cave in mind. Inspired by high-end furniture and designed to look just at home in an art gallery, the 50-inch DX802 does away with the bog-standard Ikea stand for a unique polished aluminium frame and bezel, finished off with a punchy fabric sound bar. The mix of premium finishes and materials – from diamond-cut edges to leather-like treatments – is the result of a partnership with London-based design firm Forpeople, the brains behind the first-class suite of British Airways’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Under the hood is no less impressive. The DX802 packs four times the pixels of a standard 1080p TV, with razor-sharp 3D 4K display that’s had the thumbs up from top cinema watchdog, THX. Basically, it looks so real you’ll feel like you’re actually in Game of Thrones. Or Corrie. We don’t judge. The Panasonic DX802 is available at John Lewis, priced from £1,319.
