Go Back To The Old-School With Le Coq Sportif’s Shout To Tennis Legends
Becoming a champion is about practice and persistence – and a lot of talent. And to celebrate those skills, Le Coq Sportif is celebrating what it means to be a winner with their BBR Made in France Revival series for SS16. Taking it back to the golden years of 1970s tennis, the collection is all about breathing new life into the classics. The brand is reissuing back two of the most iconic tennis looks, the track top and polo, re-releasing the original cuts and colourways Le Coq’s athletes wore on the courts in the decade style didn’t forget. The track top is constructed from high-quality, durable cotton for unrivalled comfort and wear, and the polo is made from piqué jersey, a fabric that offers the perfect drape. Just like the original 1970s models, both pieces feature a blue-white-and-red tricolour trim on the collar and sleeves. The collection is, of course, Made in France; designed and developed at Le Coq’s Romilly-sur-Seine workshops in the Aube. This means you’re not only getting classic, winning style but quality as well. To be a winner, you have to build on past victories. Le Coq Sportif is doing just that, on and off the court. The pieces are launching late February at LCS stores, online at lecoqsportif.com, and in select stores such as Hanon and Sneakersnstuff, priced from £90.
