BALL For BMW Watches

BALL for BMW Watch Collection

Swiss watchmakers BALL have revved up their engines for a beautiful collection of timepieces in collaboration with car manufacturers BMW. The two brands are industry heavyweights within their respective fields and have created a versatile and diverse collection that is ‘Engineered for Perfection’ – combining high-end Swiss craftsmanship with a classic, masculine design aesthetic. The collection uses BMW cars as inspiration, with details that reflect their engines and interiors. The design of each piece is functional, with performance, lightness and technology at the forefront; everything has a purpose and not just tacked on for the sake of it. Design features include a screwed in crown; ergonomic knobs that ensure an easy and safe grip; and polished/satin-finish surfaces for a luxury feel. However, the stand out feature is the exclusive use of 3H technology. The watches encapsulate 3H gas into glass micro tubes, which results in a blue or orange (on trend!) glow to guarantee perfect dial visibility even in the absence of light. This feature lasts up to 20 years and is 100 times brighter than any other light source currently used in watch making. But enough of the tech talk, let’s take a look at the watches themselves, which are split into four groups: Classic, GMT, Power Reserve and TMT (limited to just 1,000 timepieces). Highlights include the GM3010C-LCFJ-SL in the Classic range, which comes with a silver face and black crocodile leather strap. The design is one of the simplest in the collection, yet all the better for it, with the timeless face and luxurious strap making it a great everyday watch that will never go out of style. This design retails at £3,600. Another model worth mentioning is the Chronograph CM301OC-PICJ-BK. The all-black design is priced at £3,950, comes with a rubberised leather strap and has a more sporty feel than the rest, although it would still be versatile enough for smarter occasions. The collection is truly beautiful; BALL haven’t simply stamped the BMW logo on standard watches and ramped up the price for profit. The brand have analysed and studied automotive design and cleverly adapted it, producing one-of-a-kind timepieces that successfully merge technical performance with on point styling.
