India is divided into 29 States and 7 Union Territories, each of which has multiple airports, to ease the connectivity between various States and cities of the country. We have in all 486 total airports in India which includes the flying schools, airstrips and military bases. Of these, 123 airports are open for commercial flights while there are 34 International airports in India. List of Airports in India: 1. Andhra Pradesh: Hyderabad was the former capital of Andhra Pradesh, but with the people’s demand, it got changed to Amaravati. There are more than 7 airports in different cities of Andhra Pradesh, but Visakhapatnam airport is the largest airport of Andhra Pradesh and also the busiest one. It also operates as a civil enclave for the Indian navy airbase in the name of INS Dega. The following are the various details about the Visakhapatnam airport. Airport Name: Visakhapatnam airport. Chhattisgarh: Chattisgarh is one of the 29 States in India located in the centre-east part of the country. Being the home town of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, it is often referred to as Land of Lions and Legends. Gandhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat which got its name from the Father of the Nation.
