Seminal hip-hop collective Wu-Tang is once again leading the way when it comes to rare music merchandise. It wasn’t that long ago that the Staten Island group released Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, a one-of-a-kind album that’s unable to be sold commercially until 2103. It sold for $2 million. Go figure. 

Now the hip-hop icons are readying the release of a 300-page photo book entitled Wu-Tang Clan: Legacy. Not only does the coffee table book contain hundreds of rare photos, but also weighs a hefty 400 pounds. Making this book even more collectible is the fact that only 36 are being produced. Each copy will be signed by the remaining members of the group, numbered, and stamped with a certification of authenticity. 

The book is made of steel and bronze, with each copy individually designed by sculptor Gethin Jones. The look of each book is inspired by bronze ritual bowls of the Zhou Dynasty. The photos featured are from renowned photographers Danny Hastings, PROTIM PHOTO, Kyle Christie, Andy Cantillon, and many others.

“From conception to the present day, this is the story of the undisputed greatest hip-hop group of all time being unveiled through rare and never before seen photos,” said Wu-Tang management CEO John “Mook” Gibbons.
