Vault By Vans x Taka Hayashi Sk8 Paradise Trainer Pack

Serial Collaborators Look To Mexican Artwork

Serial collaborators Vans and artist Taka Hayashi have returned with another printed collection, this time inspired by Mexican embroidery.

The Sk8 Paradise Pack features Hayashi’s hand-drawn artwork on the uppers of classic Vans styles, including the OG Authentic LX and OG Sk8-Hi LX.

Skateboards, skeletons and floral arrangements make up the prints, which appear across black and marshmallow colour schemes.

The OG Authentic LX carries an all-over print, finished with contrasting leather edging, natural toned laces and Vans’ original white rubber sole.

Meanwhile, the OG Sk8-Hi LX features the prints on its side panels, completed by suede overlays and tongue, and Vans’ original line branding to its sides.

Vans first collaborated with the Japanese artist under its Vault initiative in 2006, having re-imaged its Court Hi LX, OG Classic Slip-On 59 LX and Sk8 Mid Skool LX models amongst other styles.

Vans’ most recent Vault project resulted in a three-piece collection with American label Stussy in June of this year, which utilised original prints from the eighties and nineties.

The Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi Sk8-Hi Paradise pack is available now at select Vans stores and the brand’s webstore. Prices range from £55 to £130.
