Why you would want to own a real-life haunted house is beyond me, but for those keen, the farmhouse that inspired horror The Conjuring is up for grabs. Located on eight acres at 1677 Round Top Road in Burrillville, Rhode Island, the house is currently on the market for $1.2 million.

The farmhouse covers 3,000 square feet and features three bedrooms and one and one-half bathrooms. While it doesn’t look that special, the history of the home is what makes it such a unique buy.

It’s believed the home is haunted by Bathsheba Sherman, a witch who lived there during the 1800s. It’s believed she cursed the land before her death and ever since strange happenings have occurred. These events came to light in the 70s when Ed and Lorraine Warren, who founded the oldest ghost hunting team in New England, investigated paranormal activity at the home and declared the farmhouse haunted.

Over the past 50 years, there have been countless eerie stories and reports of unusual events at the home that has inspired dozens of books, TV shows, and films, including James Wan’s The Conjuring.

The fully functioning and restored farmhouse is currently being rented out by the owners for ghost hunters and paranormal fans. They also run day events, tours, and live streams, illustrating how the home can be monetized by the next owner, as long as Sherman doesn’t start making trouble.
