Supra x Hanon Trainers
Labels Partner On Whisky-Inspired Trainers
Skateboard label Supra has teamed up with footwear retailer Hanon to launch two new styles of its Owen trainer. The new designs reference Hanon’s Scottish roots, taking inspiration from the barrelling and casking process of single malt whisky. The Black Label Owen Mid, priced at £120, has been produced in a limited run of 50 pairs. Each individually numbered by hand, the shoes come in a black suede colour way and carry a full tartan lining and insole. Dual-branded logos in gold leaf feature on the upper and further motifs appear on the tongue, heels, and foot bed. The Whisky Gold Owen, of which 500 are available at £100 each, comes in bright yellow; inspired by the barley used to make the spirit. A blue tartan print is carried on the lining, alongside 1990s skateboarding touches such as perforated accents and a two-way lace system. Hanon co-founder, Ed Toft, spoke of the store’s history and passion being “closely connected to skateboarding”. “To come full circle and be collaborating on a shoe with Supra, a brand that has tread a similar path is a big privilege,” he said. Both shoes come with a custom velvet dust bag, dual-branded hang tag and three pairs of laces. The two styles will be on sale 10am-1pm on Saturday 26th July at Hanon stores, and from 2pm online. The Whisky Gold Owen design will also be available from Supra stores and select stockists worldwide from 2nd August.
