Steven Spielberg's Monstrous 282 Foot Superyacht Is on the Market
As the popularity of superyachts rises amongst the rich and famous, Steven Spielberg is dropping anchor. The Jaws and Jurassic Park director has put his 282 foot superyacht on the market for a cool $160 million. There’s been no explanation given for the sale, but after owning the yacht for 10 years it’s believed Spielberg is having an even bigger boat built. Who can blame him really? With an estimated worth of $3.7 billion, I’m sure a couple of $100 million for another superyacht won’t break the bank.
Spielberg’s boat, known as Seven Seas, was custom build by Dutch shipyard Oceanco. The interior was designed by Nuvolari & Lenard and Molly Isaksen. Coming in close to the size of a Beverly Hills mansion, this four-deck monster accommodates 15-20 people and 28 crew. It has a top speed of 19.5 knots (about 22 mph) with a cruising speed of 15 knots (about 17 mph) allowing a range of 5,200 miles.

Decked out with wooden paneling, a neutral color scheme, and floorboards, the Seven Seas has a very homely vibe. A glass elevator connects the four floors, allowing easy access to the many rooms onboard, including a common area with a built-in bookcase, a screening room, saloon, and circular dining room with floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
The private owner’s deck comes with a massive master bedroom, apartment-sized bathroom, study, and bar with Guinness on tap. There’s also a giant swimming pool, two spas, and a fitness room that includes a gym, massage room, sauna, and steam room.
Other key amenities include a camera security system, a pirate protection unit, and a smart home system that can be controlled via an iPad. For those looking to enjoy the water, there are a number of on-board tenders, including a 31 foot sports boat, a 34 foot “limo” tender, three Wave Runners and a plethora of diving equipment.
