'Star Wars' Death Star Watch Costs $150K

Ever wanted your own planet destroying Death Star? While we can’t quite give you that, Kross Studio has the next best thing. The officially licensed Death Star Tourbillon from the new Swiss watchmaker is a timepiece sure to please Star Wars fans.

Inspired by the Alderaan-destroying weapon commanded by the Empire, this incredible piece of horlogerie features a tourbillon housed inside a Death Star-shaped cage. A green superlaser cannon represents the space station’s kyber crystal-enabled power.

“Like the powerful battle station itself, the masterpiece of 281 components highlights notable technical innovations, such as the hands which have been affixed to a peripheral display that orbits 360 degrees around the tourbillon,” says the official description on the Kross Studio website.

“The hour hand embodies an Imperial-Class Star Destroyer, the bane of the rebellion, while the minute hand appears as a Super-Class Star Destroyer, one of the most powerful Empire vessels.”

The Death Star is enclosed in a 45mm case with a sapphire crystal cover. The timepiece is equipped with three different straps, a calfskin leather strap, and two rubber variations.

Accompanying the watch is an authentic kyber crystal prop from Rogue One enclosed in an Imperial kyber crystal container that is based on the ones seen in the film. The container is divided into nine sections, with three holding the props from Rogue One and the other six free for other Star Wars merch.

Only 10 of these sets have been created and are available via Kross Studio for $150,000.
