Today I wanted to share something incredible that I’ve recently discovered. I’ve been going to the salon for a good half year now to get my nails done by a professional and I’ve always been happy with the result.

However, I’ve been trying to save some money and £30 spent on a manicure every 3 weeks is definitely something that I can do without.

So – I picked up one of those At home Shellac nail kits from Boots about a month ago and gave the product a try. And I have to say that I’m in love with the results! So, how to do shellac nails at home? Let me show you.

How To Do Shellac Nails At Home

STEP 1

Remove all dirt & nailpolish from your nails. You can use regular nail polish remover and a manicure stick to get rid of cuticles.

STEP 2

Buff your nails. Using a nail file, gently erode away the top layer of your nails. You don’t need to buff very hard at all – be as gentle as you want. The more you buff though, the longer your nail colour will last.

STEP 3

Remove the dust from your nails gently with some wipes or nail polish remover. Make sure that your nails are clean.

STEP 4

This step is optional. If you bought the Sensationail kit, you will have received a gel primer. You will want to use the primer now on your nails. Let it dry for 15-30 sex before wiping it off.

STEP 5

Apply base coat as you would apply regular nail polish. Cure the polish with LED light lamp for 30 seconds.
