Schoolboy Q’s 12 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Quincy Matthew Hanley, known popularly by his stage name, Schoolboy Q is an American songwriter and rapper. In 2011, he signed with Interscope Records and is also a part of the Hip Hop group, Black Hippy. After signing with Interscope, he started working on his album, Oxymoron which was later released in 2014 and contained hit singles, “Man of the Year”, “Studio” and “Hell of a Night” that charted the US Billboard Hot 100. His songs, “The Heist”, “Studio”, and “That Part” have all been nominated in the Grammy Awards.

Tattoo: The right side of his face, just to the right of his eye contains a tattoo of the letter, “Q” on it.

3. GED Tattoo

Tattoo: The right side of his neck, contains a tattoo of the letters, “GED” tattooed on it. The letters are encased inside the design of flames too. There is also a little dollar sign tattooed below his right ear near the flames of his GED tattoo.

Meaning: This tattoo shows Hanley’s love for the company that first helped him. GED Inc. is the label with whom Schoolboy released his first mixtapes. This is not the only tattoo dedicated to the company on his body.

Tattoo: The front side of Hanley’s neck, on his throat, contains a tattoo of the word, “SHAME” on it.
