Santino Marella’s 9 Tattoos & Their Meanings

Anthony Carelli, better known by his ring name, Santino Marella is a Canadian professional wrestler, trainer, web series host, sports analyst, former mixed martial artist, and actor. He competed in the WWE for 11 years and is also the founder of Battle Arts Academy. Santino was best known for his comedic antics on the WWE, which includes being crowned as “Miss Wrestlemania” under an alias, Santina Marella. Santino has won the Intercontinental Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship, and the United States Championship. He retired in 2014 and has been training ever since. 1. Conan Tattoo

Tattoo: The left side of the wrestler’s chest contains a tattoo of Conan The Barbarian on it.

Meaning: He got this tattoo as he feels he connects to the character of Conan. While talking about the tattoo, he explained, “He was born a peasant in a common village and became king by his own hand. I too was born into a simple family and now I’m a WWE Superstar on a journey to become king of my domain.”

2. Dragon Tattoo

Tattoo: The athlete’s right forearm is covered in a tattoo of a Dragon on it.

Meaning: All of his tattoos hold a special meaning for him and the dragon is no exception. Marella explained, “The dragon on my forearm is protecting his treasure just like I protect the things I treasure in my life”. There is another tattoo of a dragon on his body too.

3. Horse Tattoo

Tattoo: The right shoulder of the Canadian contains a tattoo of a tribal design of a horse on it.

Meaning: Marella got this tattoo as the horse represents his personality and nature. Marella revealed, ” The horse above the winged figure is a strong animal that’s very stubborn. A horse won’t settle for anything less than what it wants — just like me.”
