Ralph Lauren Just Revealed His Secret Car Collection To The World

Before polo shirts and preppy clothing, Ralph Lauren had one true love: cars. As the Bronx-raised son of Ashkenazi Jewish immigrants, the designer pined for petrol-guzzling monsters in his youth, only to amass one of the most sensational private car collections in the world. And yesterday, the world got a look at his secretive collection at his latest fashion show. The 77-year-old unveiled his latest collection for New York Fashion Week at his personal garage, placing beautiful people amongst very beautiful cars – something that’s likely to extend interest past the usual front row fixtures. Lauren’s collection – cars, not clothes – is one of the biggest held anywhere in the world. It includes a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, two Ferrari Testarossas (greedy), a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, a 1929 Bentley 4½ Litre and a rare Lamborghini Reventón Roadster. Now, our Ralph is a brave man to let the drunken (and likely malnourished) fashion press saunter about such expensive wheels, but we’re sure glad he did. Get a fast and furious fix below. And the clothes weren’t half bad, either.
