Puffa x Harris Tweed Limited Edition Outerwear

Puffa x Harris Tweed

Remember Puffa? As in the original puffa jacket brand? Well, they’re back this season with a huge bang… The label was created in 1973 by Penny Rogers; after her travels to Canada and the US, she set about creating a collection of jackets made initially from Eiderdown quilts. Forty years later and the brand’s durable and warm jackets remain, albeit a lot more trend-led than the iconic yet questionable 1990s neon puffas. The brand has long been a favourite of the Royal Family, having been spotted on the likes of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, and an ad campaign for Puffa was supermodel Jodie Kidd’s first ever modelling job. This year sees the label celebrate their 40th anniversary, and they have gone all out with a collaboration with another legendary British brand: Harris Tweed. Their unique cloth – which is still hand-woven by the people of Scotland’s Island of Harris – is renowned for its quality, warmth and durability. To this day, there are still only three mills on the Western Isles of Scotland that produce genuine Harris Tweed. The capsule collection features two pieces that combine the design values and ethos of both brands: a retro tweed two-tone bomber jacket that merges the classic Puffa jacket with traditional materials, including tweed and shearling; and a gilet, which is produced in the same heritage materials. This exclusive collaboration is strictly limited edition, with only forty of each style being produced. The collection will be stocked at www.puffa.com from November. The bomber jacket retails at £199.99 and the gilet at £149.99.
