Pharrell's The Goodtime Hotel Open for Bookings
Pharrell’s first venture into the hotel world is up and running, with The Goodtime hotel open for bookings. The Grammy Award winner has teamed with Miami-based entrepreneur David Grutman for the project. Located on Washington Ave in South Beach, Miami, Pharrell has likened staying at the hotel to “being in a Wes Anderson film.”
“The Goodtime will light up this community,” said Pharrell in a recent interview with Ocean Drive. “People are going to be inspired by what we’re doing here. It will be good energy, good vibrations, good space, and, of course, a good time.”
The hotel has been three years in the making, with the COVID-19 pandemic pushing the opening date back. The duo of Pharrell and Grutman want to re-establish Washington Avenue as a vibrant cultural hub.
“Pharrell said to me, ‘I think we should name it The Goodtime as one word’ – and really change the narrative,” Grutman said in the interview with Ocean Drive. “That’s been our whole vision for everything we’re doing. [In recent years], Washington Avenue has not been thought of as the star. We want to change that—this won’t be a place to just lay your head.”
Pharrell and Grutman went all out with the design, enlisting world-renowned designer Ken Fulk and landscape architect Raymond Jungles to create their vision. The rooms have a nostalgic feel, harking back to the 80s with lots of pastel colorways.
Notable features include a large outdoor pool, a library, and the hotel’s centerpiece, the Strawberry Moon, a Mediterranean-style restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating.
If you’re looking for a weekend away or just want to escape for a few days, head to The Goodtime Hotel and book a room. You won’t be disappointed.
