NAHB The New American Home 2019 Tour – Ascaya Community – Las Vegas, Nevada
Curious to see what the latest and greatest in home construction looks like? So was I. While at IBS 2019 I swung over to the 9,028 square feet show home for peek inside.
Located in the ultra-luxury community of Ascaya, (Henderson, Nevada), you’ll find a stunning home just twenty minutes or so from the Las Vegas strip.
Designed by Sun West Custom Homes, The New American Home features everything you’d expect from a top-tier builder, from the modern tech details to modern building materials.
Speaking of modern, 2019 The New American Home incorporates countless modern and contemporary details from the baseboard to the roof, windows and beyond.
Aside from the energy efficient achievements, stunning design, and so on, what really makes this multi-million dollar home so impressive is one thing: The view.
Cut into the mountains the home offers incredible breath-taking views of not just the Las Vegas strip but also the incredible desert landscape.
Add in the vanishing edge pool, seamless indoor and outdoor transition spaces, and massive glass windows and the 2019 TNAH does a beautiful job at maximizing the view from every inch of the home.
For interior details, I just wasn’t as impressed as I thought I would be; there were just too many materials thrown together without considering how well they’d all blend in. A good portion of the interior details were great, don’t get me wrong, but there were a significant amount of things that seemed out of place.
Things like the floating bar countertop were terrific in concept, but executed oddly. The added steel wires were a bit bizarre to see if the countertop could support itself without them.
I can only imagine being at the bar talking to someone on the other side and having to deal with these large wires getting in the way.
Beyond the above, the landscaping detail was off the charts, and the exterior/building profile was just absolutely stunning. I loved the walkway, windows, doors, exterior color choices and so on.
