Back on the Market: One of Only 3 Lamborghini Miura SVJs

In the world of Lamborghini, some are so rare that the chance to own one is a near once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the moment to make it happen has arrived.

Kidston, a Swiss dealership, has listed a Miura SVJ and it is garnering some much-deserved attention across the globe, especially among diehard fanatics. The teaser video aptly introduces the vehicle: “You can count how many were built on just one hand.” Cue the rock and roll, and get ready to cruise.

This vehicle’s story begins in 1966 when the car’s smooth-as-silk design took the world by storm. An exquisite example of Italian design and engineering, this small package delivers big power thanks to its V12 that can reach 350 to 400 hp.

As the years went on, improvements rolled out. In July of 1972, an urgent factory memo demanded a new build, the Tipo Jota. Only one was to be produced.

Eventually, three were created by the manufacturer. Some SV owners have modified their cars to fit the J’s dynamics. Although impressive trophy cars, they’re not originally factory-produced.

The now-available model, chassis number 5090/engine number 30751, is as original as they come.

The car’s changed hands and has seen some extravagant routes across France. Noteworthy prior owners include Paul Ferrandi, Alain Aouizerat, and Carrosserie Chapron (who had painted it silver in Paris), Michel Barthet, and Luciano Colosio. Who will be the next lucky owner? Only time will tell.

Today’s collectors may prefer the original color of Rosso Granada which has been brought back to the car’s exterior by a former Lamborghini engineer by the name of Luca Salvioli with Pietro Cremoini in 2012. Even the red leather interior was meticulously restored inch by inch. Not surprisingly, the careful work to restore the ride took over three years.
