The True Story of the Lamborghini Huracán STO

There was only one singular purpose in mind for this super-sports car on steroids. A raging bull of a hypercar to deliver the authenticate race car experience with the same determination pushing Ferruccio Lamborghini in competing with Ferrari back in 1963.

Road legal and concentrated entirely on the need for speed, the all-new Huracán STO carves up the road with extreme aerodynamics, track-honed handling dynamics, lightweight contents, and the highest-performing V10 engine to date.

Are you ready to pull the trigger on a racetrack reality? Say hello to the hypercar of the ages. Bring the race track to the road, the latest, and if the rumor mill is accurate, the last of the Huracán series is going out with one hell of a bang. The Lamborghini Huracán STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) is one almighty piece of motoring engineering.

A road-legal version of the Super Trofeo Evo race car comes brandishing the same expertise as the three-time winner of the 24 hours of Daytona, Lamborghini GT3. Stripped down to the bare necessities, the extremely lightweight and aerodynamic of the incredibly successful race car pushes technology and performance to the forefront, with a hefty inheritance from the race car pedigree.

Fusing together the hood, fender, bonnet, and bumper, it’s what Lamborghini calls the cofango—a combination of two Italian words cofano, meaning “hood” and parafango, meaning “fender.”

Harkening back to the fluid chassis of the 1960s Miura Lamborghini, there’s no room for storage in this supercar, with the manufacturer trading luggage for time-saving efficiency. Using a carbon fiber “sandwich” construction, engineers have removed 25% of the overall weight using similar techniques you’d find in the NASA Space Shuttle.

In total, the Huracán STO weighs 2,952 pounds thanks to the unique material which wraps around 75% of the car’s exterior.
