Tattoo: ‘Vanessa’ Tattoo on his right arm.

Meaning: Vanessa is the name of Kobe’s wife, whom he married on April 18, 2001. Kobe got her name inked in 2003 when he was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Colorado hotel employee. Kobe admitted to an adulterous sexual encounter with the accuser but denied sexual assault allegations. Kobe believed that the encounter between him and the accuser was consensual. Due to all this, the public image of Kobe was completely tarnished and he had lost his endorsement contracts with big brands. In spite of all this, his wife, Vanessa stood by him throughout this rough phase. After all this, he got the name of his wife inked on his arm. In an interview, Kobe expressed his feelings for his wife. He said,

You’re my backbone. You’re a blessing. You’re a piece of my heart. You’re the air I breathe. And you’re the strongest person I know, and I’m so sorry for having to put you through this and having to put our family through this.”

However, the allegations against Kobe were dropped off in September 2004, when the victim denied to testify. Eventually, he settled the lawsuit with the victim outside the court.
