Watchmaker Hublot has gone public with one of its latest offerings, the iridescent Big Bang Tourbillon Watch, a timepiece boasting 36 carats and 484 baguette-cut stones.

In 2017, Hublot took to the market with colorful statement timepieces that garnered a lot of attention. The Big Bang Tourbillon Watch, with every color of the rainbow, continues in this grand tradition.

Now, all of the “Roy G. Biv” colors are available on a single watch, decked out in precious and semi-precious stones. The timepiece represents its flagship model, the Big Bang. As the watchmaker claims, it’s “more than a watch: it’s a state of mind.”

The pieces are designed to steal glances. Two models are available: white gold and King Gold. Both give way to a spectacular and sparkling sapphire, showcasing an automatic manufacturer movement. It aims to question today’s minimalist trends.

In the other direction from minimalism, maximalism is about flash, style, and dressing to the nines. It is the place that puts excess on a pedestal, which seems to be on-brand for Hublot (and its latest creations).

The light that comes from the sun can be broken down into a full spectrum of colors using a prism. This primary school projet du jour seems to have been the inspiration for the colorful timepiece. A rainbow-themed watch, however, maybe what the market has been demanding.

Hublot’s name continues to be synonymous with color, pop, and innovation these days. As a Swiss watchmaker who owns what they call “the Art of Fusion,” the brand was the first to blend metals and rubber in their craft years ago.

The brand’s other collections have highlighted similar style choices such as gradients, contrasts, and juxtapositions. This piece’s color scheme draws on red rubies, pink sapphires, purple amethyst, blue topaz, and yellow and orange sapphires. This means plenty of color and sparkle!
