How to Wear a Wide-Leg Jumpsuit

One of my favorite recent purchases is my wide-leg jumpsuit. It’s comfy, easy, and chic. With a single piece, you’ve instantly got a high-fashion outfit. It’s also a sneaky way to get in on the culottes/wide-leg pants trend without ever having to worry about what kind of tops work with voluminous bottoms.

Still, when it comes to picking shoes and accessories, the wide-leg jumpsuit may seem like a tricky piece to style. And where can you wear a wide-leg jumpsuit, anyway? The answer is everywhere, as these babies can be dressed up or down and paired with a lot more items than you would expect.

A light denim jumpsuit is perfect for those not-too-hot summer days (bonus points for a cutout). Cute flats or sneaks make a perfect pairing.

When the hem hits at around your mid-calf, you just want to steer clear of shoes that cut you off or weigh down the look too much. It’s a fine line, and will require you to play around a bit; sleek ankle strap sandals or even chunky flats or sneakers can be surprisingly cute. The only shoes I’d stay away from are clunky wedges, as they’d throw off the proportions.

A solid jumpsuit is the perfect backdrop for a fabulous statement necklace. Just as you don’t want to throw off the proportions of the look with major shoes, a roomy tote or large structured bag would look out of place. Instead, keep playing up the trendy, summer vibe with an oversize clutch with oh-so-in tassel details.
