How to Dress Like Laurel Castillo from “How to Get Away With Murder”
Last month, I posted about how to dress like HTGAWM‘s Michaela Pratt. You guys seemed to love it, and requested that I write about the other fab lady of the Keating Five, Laurel Castillo. Well, your wish is my command.
If you’re caught up on the show, you know this season is going to be a tough one for Laurel. But no matter where you are in your viewing, you already know that Laurel (played by IRL girlboss Karla Souza) is a total badass who is unafraid to stand up to anyone, be it her parents, her professor, or her shady ex-BF.
Laurel’s style is a tad edgier and more relaxed than Michaela’s. She loves to layer with casual jackets, blazers, and sweaters. And she tops off almost every look with some sort of layered or statement necklace.
Below, I’ve created three Laurel-esque looks for every occasion. These options are a tad more affordable than her typical Rag & Bone and A.L.C. fare, but still just as effortlessly stylish.

Class
Products: Shirt – Last Call, Sweater – Lands’ End, Jacket – Madewell, Jeans – MANGO, Booties – JustFab, Necklace – Nordstrom.
Layers are an easy way to upgrade a would-be-basic jeans look, and they don’t have to be so heavy that you’re shvitzed all day. Pop a sleeveless collared blouse under a sweater, then add an army jacket. Other Laurel-worthy layering ideas? Let the hem of a longer top peek out from under a shorter sweater or cropped shirt, or make any cute top cuter with a coordinating cardi.
Skinnies and slightly rugged ankle boots go with the casual vibe. Finish with a pile of your own favorite necklaces, or snag this one that looks like it came straight out of Laurel’s closet.
The Office
Products: Sweater – Bloomingdale’s, Skirt – Miss Selfridge, Boots – Old Navy, Necklace – JCPenney.
