The residence reflects Aldo Gucci’s home in the silver screen production set around the renowned Lake Como. A wonderful wide shot of the home’s exterior shows up within the first fifteen seconds of the film’s trailer – for many viewers, it is love at first sight.
House of Gucci is inspired by the unbelievable narrative of the emblematic family behind the Gucci fashion house. The story covers over thirty years of happenings with highs and lows, love, revenge, and, in the end, an unforeseen murder. Gucci was chairman from 1953 to 1986.
The MGM Studios production depicts the story of “A legacy worth killing for.” Starring Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, and Jeremy Irons, the film debuted on the 24th of November. Ridley Scott directed the movie. It is based on a book by Sara Gay Forden.
In real life, the house is called Villa Balbiano. In fact, it is even rumored to be one of the biggest homes on Lake Como. It was built for an Italian cardinal, Tolomeo Gallio, around the end of the 16th century. Later, another cardinal took possession of the place and hosted many banquets.
