Nocturnal enuresis is the unintentional passage of urine while asleep. The medical term for bedwetting is enuresis. This can take place both during the day and night. Another term for enuresis is urinary incontinence. A number of factors are associated with the increased risk of bedwetting and reason for urination during sleep.
