H&M The First Ten Years: Designer Collaborations Book

Retailer To Launch Commemorative Book

High street retail chain H&M has compiled its long list of designer collaborations in a limited edition coffee table book. Titled The First Ten Years: Designer Collaborations, it offers a retrospective look at collaborative projects with industry names from Viktor & Rolf to Stella McCartney. The book features previously unseen images and campaigns from the clothing and accessory ranges, including offerings from Donatella Versace, Alber Elbaz, Matthew Williamson and Roberto Cavalli. It also contains exclusive interviews with a selection of the designers, with the aim of “sharing insights into the collaborations as well as looking back at the work process and launching of the collections.” Karl Lagerfeld, the first ever designer to collaborate with the Swedish retailer back in 2004, graces the cover, accompanied by a quote from the Chanel head designer and creative director on the back. The book’s launch, set to take place next month, ties in with the release of the business’s latest collaborative collection with American designer Alexander Wang. The line, which was revealed in full last week, follows a sportswear theme with heavily branded monochrome designs. The First Ten Years: Designer Collaborations book will be available to buy in 250 H&M stores globally, priced at £7.99. Bosses have announced that 25 per cent of proceeds from the book will be donated to charity Unicef.
