Greek Mythology 101
- In Greek mythology, the primordial gods created the world. Gaia (goddess of the Earth) and Uranus (god of the sky) gave birth to the Titans.
- The Titans ruled the world until they were overthrown by the Olympians (the twelve gods we know and love).
- The Olympian gods lived on Mount Olympus, which you can visit if you make a trip to Greece!
- After defeating the Titans, brothers Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew straws to divide the world between them. Zeus drew the longest straw and became king of the gods, and ruler of the sky. Poseidon became the ruler of the seas. And Hades drew the shortest straw, receiving the Underworld.
As a tribute to the main divine rulers of Ancient Greece, in this article I will show you three outfits inspired by Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades.
Zeus – Ruler of Mount Olympus, and God of the Sky
Zeus is not only the king of gods, but also the god of the sky, of thunder and lightning, law and order, justice, and kingship. Although he is married to Hera, he is infamous for many love affairs which created a large and complicated family tree.
