Texas distiller Devils River has announced the release of their latest expression, the Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey. 

Bottled at barrel proof, the new release is a “grain-to-glass” 100% Texas straight bourbon. Only Texas sourced grain is used in the mash bill to create Lone Star state individuality in each barrel.

Being able to speed up the aging process has helped in the creation of Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey, thanks to the heat and humidity of Texas.  

Due to the blazing Texas sun, the whiskey extracts more of the complex flavors from the wood staves of the barrel, allowing its distinctive characteristics to shine through. 

“Up to 75% of the flavor in whiskey comes from the dark #4 charred oak barrel the whiskey is aged in, this gives Devils River Distillery an advantage to their aging process,” said Cameron.
