David Gandy Underwear For Marks And Spencer
Model’s Underwear Line Announced At London Collections: Men
David Gandy is following Beckham into the underwear design market, the British retailer Marks & Spencer has confirmed.
The male model has created a 28-piece line for the brand, known so far so include underwear, nightwear and loungewear.
The retail giant made the announcement during London Collections: Men (LC:M), revealing the David Gandy for Autograph range will be part of its premium department.
34-year-old Gandy is already the face of the store’s Collections range. The latest move places him alongside fellow model and Autograph designer Rosie Huntingdon-Whitley, whose designs were the fastest selling in the company’s history.
“Partnering with a great British brand like M&S felt the perfect fit right now,” Gandy said.
“We’ve been working closely for a few years, so it felt like a natural progression to collaborate with them on my own range.”
The LC:M ambassador is said to have had a hand in all areas of the creation and design, even down to packaging.
Despite the project, Gandy said he is not done with modelling just yet.
“I still enjoy modelling, and that has given me various opportunities to explore other things too, it will always be at the heart of whatever I do.”
Director of menswear at the chain, Scott Fyfe, said: “We think our customers will love the exceptional quality and finishing that’s at the very heart of this range.”
The collection will launch in the London flagship store on 18th September, after which it will become available in 250 M&S stores worldwide as well as online.
Both price points and images are being kept under wraps until later in the year.
