Watch connoisseurs are always on the lookout for good tidings for the season; this year they have certainly found a stroke of luck in CHRONEXT’s New Advent Calendar.

CHRONEXT is a luxury watch platform, and it has just unveiled its new Advent calendar for the 2021 season. It surely tops what it put out the year prior. This collection sets out to give the phrase “second generation” a whole new meaning.

The exterior is built of top-quality lumber, elegantly painted with what’s known as “black piano lacquer.” 24 lit doors hide a line of fine watches as well as the clockwork outline. Measuring a substantial 1.25 x 1.90 x 0.28 meters, the calendar outsizes many Christmas trees.

Behind each little door rests a designer timepiece with visions of sugar plums in its head waiting to see the light of day until Christmas arrives. 

What holiday cheer will be found? Try A Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Leopard (with a diamond setting) or a rose gold A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk mechanical wristwatch. Other winners include the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Black Panther and pieces from Patek Phillipe.

The A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk (Ref. 140.032) stands out as the first mechanical wristwatch to use jumping numerals in the digital realm. The 41.9 mm rose gold case showcases the ticking beauty of the hand-wound movement.

Another well-anticipated piece, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Black Panther, is rare indeed. It offers a nod to the well-known Marvel superhero with a future-facing motif. The flying tourbillon is part of a limited run with only 250 pieces slated for distribution across the globe.

Such a treasure trove won’t come without a sophisticated price point. At about $2,603,600 USD (€2.3 million EUR), the cost surpasses the 2020 fee of about $1,415,000 USD (€1.25 million EUR). Then again, this year’s edition is a tad bigger after all.
