Cherubs are one of the living beings not connected to earth who can be termed as directly connected to God, according to Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. In the book of Ezekiel and (at least some) Christian icons, Cherubs are described as having four two pairs of wings, and four faces. The four faces are lion, ox, human, and an eagle bird. They had straight legs with the soles of their feet, like the hooves of the bull represented as polished brass. Basically, they are the baby angels. They are also associated with music and are often designed with musical instruments.

In the Islam religion, the cherubims are angels closest to God, which may include the Bearers of the Throne and the archangels. Below the angel of the throne, the angels subordinative to Michael are also identified as cherubim. They also appeared in the “Song of David” where cherubim are imagined as a vehicle upon which the deity descends to earth from heaven in order to rescue the speaker. In Rabbinic literature, the two cherubim are described as human-like figures with wings. One is the boy, and another one is the girl placed on the opposite ends of the Mercy seat in the inner sanctum of God’s house. In Medieval theology, cherubs are the second-highest rank in the angelic hierarchy, following the seraphim.

Divine

Cherubs are one of the non-earthly being closest to God. So, we can deem them as divine beings. They are being mentioned in the Abraham religions. Cherub can also be said as a direct messenger of God. Getting a tattoo inked with cherubs represents the spiritual nature of the wearer.

Innocence

Since Cherubs are the beings that have a baby’s body so we can say that Cherubs are the symbol of innocence because babies are innocent. In another way, we can also term them as a direct emblem of chastity.
