12 Celebrity Weed Smokers

Admitting you smoked cannabis was once a taboo subject. Often cited as a gateway drug, weed was looked down up by those in society. If you enjoyed a toke here or there you were immediately labeled as a drug addict and the worst of the worst. Those views have changed over the past decade. New legislation has seen the drug become legal in 37 states across America. While many of the older generations still don’t agree, most people have welcomed this change. It has resulted in weed becoming much more accepted by the general public. The addition of weed being used medicinally has also changed people’s perspective on the drug. The legalization of marijuana has allowed many people, including celebrity weed smokers, the chance to toke up.

While there have always been celebrities who smoked weed, many used to be called out for endorsing blazing up. Now that cannabis is legal, the response to celebrities admitting to smoking weed is much less severe. It has allowed many celebrity weed smokers to open up a dialogue with others about the positive impact of weed. Many have also managed to go into business with marijuana companies where they sell their own strains of weed or endorse certain products.

You can’t have a list of celebrity weed smokers without including the OG Willie Nelson. The legendary country singer is a known lover of the green. He has never shied away from that fact either. He also credits smoking weed with saving his life. In an interview with Rolling Stone he claimed, “I wouldn’t be alive. It saved my life, really. I wouldn’t have lived 85 years if I’d have kept drinking and smoking like I was when I was 30, 40 years old,” he said. “I think that weed kept me from wanting to kill people. And probably kept a lot of people from wanting to kill me, too.”
