Belstaff Clothing: AW14 Collection

Belstaff AW14

Belstaff has recently unveiled its motor sport-inspired AW14 menswear collection. The British giant has opted to honor the riders of the 1965 International Six Day Trial Race with a line centred on protection, functionality and endurance.

Widely recognized for its use of quality materials and wearable staples, Belstaff has taken a modern approach to design while ensuring classic styles remain practical and current.

Wool can be seen layered over leather and waxed cottons as part of the accompanying lookbook (below). Heavy duty, shearling-lined motorcycle boots act as another off-road nod to the Isle of Mann event.

The Belstaff four-pocket jacket has been given an update. An added dropout lining sees the archival piece transformed into what is now dubbed the Sportmaster by the brand’s design team.

The 1924 born label re-entered itself into the menswear market in 2012 with a far more accessible and luxurious look. As a result, fabric choice has been thoroughly considered within the brand’s newest collections, with fine quality leather, cotton and wool prevalent throughout.

Accessories deliver durability, with gauntlet gloves, knitted balaclavas and rider hats each adding further seasonal protection as well as a fitting finishing touch to individual looks.

The history-rooted range from Belstaff will be available later this year from MR PORTER, Harvey Nichols, Harrods and the Belstaff website.
