Belstaff Anniversary Trialmaster Jacket
Belstaff Anniversary Trialmaster Jacket
Heritage brand Belstaff is celebrating almost a century of history with a commemorative jacket. The British firm, founded 90 years ago, is marking the occasion by updating its 1950s Trialmaster design.
The original – rendered in wax cotton sourced from British mills and worn by the likes of Steve McQueen, Ewan McGregor and AW14 campaign face, David Beckham – now features a faded Union Jack print.
The hand-finished jacket will go on sale this summer, though a price is yet to be released. Other Trialmaster items, such as the short boot and current jacket model, retail between £495 and £650.
In addition to the jacket, the brand has launched a limited edition retrospective book, titled 90 Years Of Speed & Style.
The coffee table item has been created to chart the brand’s history, which began in 1924, with photographs shot by Steven Meisel, Craig McDean and Peter Lindbergh.
The not-for-sale print will be on display at all Belstaff flagships, including the most recent New Bond Street store.
According to a report by WWD, the brand’s Creative Director, former Burberry employee Martin Cooper, showed his final Belstaff collection in February. Requests for comment or confirmation sent to the brand went unanswered.
This month Gavin Haig was named CEO, joining from the likes of Cartier and Dunhill.
The Belstaff 90th anniversary Trialmaster Jacket will be available from July in store and online at Belstaff.co.uk.
