Pointer Footwear: SS14 Collection

Pointer SS14 – First Look

FashionBeans has been given a first look at Pointer’s spring/summer 2014 collection. The range, launched to coincide with the brand’s ten year anniversary, celebrates the label’s history by experimenting with established designs. Created in 2004, Pointer’s aim has always been to design high quality footwear with an emphasis on detail. The brand places a strong focus on art, design and music – something that shines through in the collections. Each season, the offering observes these values and strives to reinvent some of the classic designs that are already well known within the footwear world. Materials, patterns and style are all reworked in order to create a unique range that stays true to the London-based firm’s roots and ideals. SS14 sees every silhouette – from tennis and deck shoes to derbies and lace-up pumps – given new life. Influence taken from the Land Art movement brings with it organic textures, while Pointer maintain the vibrant colours that have come to be expected from the brand. Incorporating a mixture of suede, full grain leather and canvas, the idea of a redesigned ‘vintage sport’ shoe runs throughout. The collection makes use of the world leading Ortholite insole in many of its designs. The footwear innovation produces a comfortable fit with unique support, specifically designed for the shape of the human foot. With a polyurethane and recycled rubber formula, breathability and durability is at the heart of the technology. The line also includes the new Cloud Print, which was inspired by the AW11 Sky Print. Available on canvas in Picante and Trellis, the design reinforces the brand’s commitment to offering a unique take on a standard shoe. Pointer’s SS14 collection arrives early next month on February 1st at stockists worldwide. Prices range from £60 for canvas plimsolls to £130 for full grain leather shoes.
